A Healthy Weight Loss Tip That’s Easy To Follow

Fat Loss Programs No Comments »

If you want to lose weight, a healthy weight loss tip is to increase natural fiber in your diet and reduce simple carbohydrates. The easiest way to do this is to avoid processed foods including white flour products, eat a good amount of protein and eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. It is also important to drink plenty of pure water and to exercise daily. An active, natural lifestyle will lead to weight loss over time unless there is a medical condition involved.

Obesity and related illnesses can be directly linked to increased consumption of processed foods combined with sedentary living. Emotional and mental health can also be affected by this diet and actually lock people into a cycle of eating the very foods that are harming them.

Mass-produced foods are big business. We cannot rely on the manufacturers to tell us the truth about their products. They are in the business of making profits so they produce products that people will buy as opposed to products that are good for them. Neither can consumers rely on government legislators to protect them from dangerous ingredients. Legislators are influenced by economic factors as much as anything else, so unless the danger of one ingredient is substantial on its own, nothing will be done.

The problem is not one isolated ingredient. It is the cocktail of chemicals we are eating daily in a variety of unrelated products. The toxic additions combined with the nutritional losses as a result of processing, make processed foods a long term health risk. So if you want a healthy weight loss tip that won’t cost you a thing, here it is: kick these foods out of your diet totally. The results will amaze you.

No healthy weight loss tip would be complete without emphasizing the importance of exercise. Weight loss should always be a function of good health. It is better to be a bit overweight but generally healthy than skinny and sick. No one who has seen skin and bone addicts would argue with this.

Therefore, improve your health by making the necessary lifestyle changes such as avoiding junk and nutritionally deficient foods, eating a healthy, natural diet, exercising regularly and drinking plenty of pure water. As your health improves, your body will function better and hormones and blood sugar will become more balanced. You’ll look better and feel better and begin to lose weight.

There is a proviso, however. Some medications such as cortical steroids have side effects such as obesity and diabetes. If you have taken these medications over a long period and have weight problems, these medications can be the culprits. While it is dangerous to simply stop medications, particularly for life threatening conditions such as asthma, it would be wise to begin to research other options for your health. There may be medications that do not have the same side effects.

Alternatively, there may be natural remedies that will work and have no side effects at all. This is your life and no one else has to live with the consequences of what you put into your body but you. So a healthy weight loss tip if you are on medication that makes you fat is to become informed and to look for alternatives. At the same time, live a healthy lifestyle and be the healthiest you can be under the circumstances.

Weight loss isn’t rocket science, but it is very hard with our modern cultural mindset. So do yourself a favor and change your mind about the way we eat and the way we live. Treat yourself kindly and remember that a genuine healthy weight loss tip will be just that, healthy.

While You’re on a Fat Loss Diet, Don’t Forget to Reward Yourself!

Fat Loss Programs No Comments »

When you’re on a fat loss diet, the fact that you’ve started to look and feel better may be their own rewards. But it will help you stick to your plan for the long term if you take the time to reward yourself for sticking to your plan and reaching your weight loss goals.

You should think about adding some incentives into your diet plan. In fact, you can set up the incentives in such a way that they reinforce your new habits. For instance, if you’ve added a half hour of daily exercise to your life, you might reward yourself with a luxurious and relaxing bath with your favorite bath oils. This will not only ease your sore muscles, but will also give you some quality time to yourself.

If you’ve stuck to your diet plan for a whole week and can already see the pounds melting, give yourself an evening out spent doing something you like to do. If you build rewards into your plan right from the start, you’ll find that dieting and exercising becomes associated with pleasures, and not deprivation.

Here are some ideas for setting up a weight loss reward system for yourself:

1. Think about how much weight you want to lose, then decide on a reward at specific steps along the way. You might pick out a reward for yourself after losing your first 10 pounds, for instance, then more rewards for each additional 10 pounds until your weight is where you want it.

2. Once you start dropping sizes, treat yourself to a new item of clothing in that new size. However, if you have a lot of weight to lose, don’t go crazy along the way, or you’ll have a closet-full of clothes you won’t be able to wear when you get to your desired weight.

3. Find a supportive friend or family member and brag on yourself a little bit when you reach a specific goal. Telling others about your goals can help to reinforce them in your mind, but it will also give you a good feeling when you can share your successes with them.
or just chat. Even if it’s long distance.

4. When you’ve gotten through a particularly difficult situation without slipping, such as a calorie-laden holiday meal, be sure to do something extra special for yourself as a reward.

5. When you’ve been steadily losing weight for a few weeks in a row, start adding a specific dollar amount to a jar for every pound. You’ll be able to watch it steadily grow, and you can use it to buy a special reward when you reach your final weight goal.

6. Give yourself a party and invite your support group.

7. When you’ve gone through a rough stretch and don’t seem to be making progress, this is particularly a good time to reward yourself. Even if you go through a time of not losing weight - and it happens to all of us - you need a reward for sticking it out anyway. Weight loss involves plateaus. They are tough to get through. But when you do, you deserve something special.

8. Once you’ve reached your final goal, it’s time to take that money out of your jar and really splurge on a big reward. Make it something extra special that you wouldn’t normally do or buy.

It may not feel like it when you are on a fat loss diet, but taking care of your body by eating healthy, exercising, and losing weight are gifts you give to yourself. Rewarding yourself along the way will not only make the process more pleasant, but will actually insure that you are more successful!

The Best Weight Loss Tip You’ve Never Heard Of

Fat Loss Programs No Comments »

Most people think that in order to lose weight they have to completely change their whole diet from the ground up. We’ve all heard that we should be counting our calories, or calculating our daily fat intake, or switching to low carbs. But I’ve found that the best weight loss tip is to do something that is very simple: change what you are drinking!

Follow these 3 tips and you’ll find that the rest of your diet will change for the better, and you’ll be losing weight almost without thinking about it:

1-Drink More Water.

Water is one of the most important nutrients your body needs. Unlike other nutrients, you can’t live long without it. Water flushes out toxins, aids in digestion, and nourishes your cells. If you are overweight, what may be even more important is that drinking lots of water will make you feel more full. But most of us don’t drink nearly enough.

Drink a glass of water before every meal. You’ll find that your body feels full a lot faster, but you’ll eat less. Many of us start our day with a cup of coffee or tea. Unfortunately, both of these can dehydrate you. So drink your glass of water first. Try to insure that you drink at least 8 glasses of water spaced evenly throughout your day. This one step alone can make a great deal of difference in losing weight. In fact, it’s probably the best weight loss tip that you’ve never heard of!

2-Stop Drinking Sodas, even Diet Sodas.

Sodas are filled with sugar, which can play havoc with your system and has no nutritional value at all. Diet sodas aren’t much better. They may be lower in calories, but they’re filled with artificial substances. What many people may not realize is that carbonation is also bad for your teeth and bones. People who drink sodas all the time are much more likely to suffer from osteoporosis later in life.

3-Eat Foods that Contain a Lot of Water.

Besides eating regular meals, you’ll find that you have a much easier time losing weight if you eat a couple of healthy snacks during the day. Eating snacks that are filled with water will fill you up without adding on the pounds. Good examples are tomatoes, watermelon, and other melons.

4-Eat Fresh Fruits Rather than Drinking Juice.

Fruit has natural sugars that are good for you, plus a lot of fiber. Juices are often sweetened and filled with calories. You’ll find that the fruit is not only healthier, but are more filling.

You’ll find that it doesn’t take a lot of will power to follow these tips. But the results will undoubtedly be better and more long-lasting than most of the fad diets you’ve read about. They don’t require you to make drastic changes in your lifestyle or eating habits. That’s a big reason this is the best weight loss tip you’ll ever read about!

Fat Loss Plans: Using the Buddy System

Fat Loss Programs No Comments »

Have you heard the story about the child trying to move the boulder while his father watches? The kid pushes and shoves with all his might, but the rock hardly moves an inch. He finally turns to his father and tells him that he can’t do it, that the job is impossible.

His father tells him not to quit, that he hasn’t yet used all the resources available to him. The boy responds that he has pushed his hardest, using all his strength, and still can’t move the boulder. It is just too much. Finally the father looks at him and says, “You didn’t ask me to help you yet.”

Sometimes trying to lose weight can feel like trying to move that impossible boulder. You figuratively push and shove with all your might. You throw yourself into a strenous workout program, count every calorie that comes near your mouth, read all the latest diet books. But no matter how much you try, you find sticking to a diet and workout program impossibly hard. Eventually you give up.

But there is one technique that you probably haven’t tried, one that could push you over the hump: using the fat loss buddy system. That means putting together your own personal support group of friends, family, and acquaintances. The best support group are people who are positive, who genuinely care about you, and who also could benefit from losing weight. This kind of group can positively reinforce everyone’s desire to lose weight, offer encouragement, and help you get through setbacks that would have derailed you.

Here are some tips to help you build that support group:

1. Find an exercise buddy who will commit to work out with you on a regular basis. If you can’t find someone among your regular friends and family, join a gym and look for someone who has the same goals as you. Quite often, having someone to meet and workout with is the big difference between failure and sticking it out. This is especially true in the beginning, when your muscles will be sore as you start doing activities you haven’t done regularly in the past. Getting through this time is greatly aided when you have someone else to share complaints and sympathy with. You might even find that you’ve made a wonderful new friend in the process!

2. Make sure your family is a help and not a hindrance. Don’t let them sabotage your diet efforts or belittle you. Unfortunately, many families can do more harm than help when you are trying to change your behaviors or correct bad habits.

3. Think about joining a fat loss group, such as Weight Watchers. Often, the best support group you will find is a group of people who are trying to make the same changes that you are. It can help a lot to have people to share your successes and failures with, plus you will hear many tips you probably hadn’t thought of before. You may also find people in this group who will agree to be your exercise buddy. Best of all, you’ll get the encouragement you need to stick it out when nothing seems to be happening.

10 Ways to Take the Drudgery out of Exercise

Fat Loss Programs No Comments »

Very few of us are unaware of the benefits of exercising - particularly when we are trying to lose weight. Just about every doctor and healthy organization in the country has endorsed the importance of exercise in maintaining health. A half an hour a day of moderate physical activity is the key to better health and easier weight loss. The most healthy diet in the world won’t take off as much weight if you don’t add exercise to the mix.

But for many people, the thought of exercise is about as exciting as getting a root canal. It can seem boring, like another chore we don’t have time for in our busy day, even hard and painful.

Perhaps the problem is the activities you think of as “exercise.” Here are 10 activities that you probably won’t think of first when someone tells you to get more exercise:

1. If you have children, go outside and play a rousing game of tag with them. This will make exercising a family activity that is not only fun, but something that everyone participates in on a regular basis. You’d be surprised at how many calories you’ll burn without it seeming like work. Besides having a lot of fun, your kids will remember the times you share with them for the rest of their lives.

2. Make walking through favorite places a regular part of the time you give to yourself. Walking for 30 minutes at a moderate pace will burn 450 calories and you’ll feel great. Wear comfortable shoes and try to vary the places you walk. If you love to shop, go to the mall and window shop while you walk. Or take a walk in your local park. If you have a dog, you have a ready-made companion to share your walks with.

3. Get an exercise partner. If you have a friend who is also trying to lose weight, you can help each other, plus enjoy your friendship at the same time. You are both more likely to stick to your exercise plan if you have a daily exercise date with someone you enjoy sharing time with.

4. Get a mini-trampoline and let your inner child out to play! Mini-trampolines are inexpensive, easy to set up, and you can store them in small spaces. If the weather is bad, you can bring it into the living room and work out while you watch the news or your favorite program. Mini-trampolines provide you with a low impact surface on which to bounce, dance, and have fun.

5. Take up a new active hobby. Do you realize that gardening is great exercise? You can actually burn more calories from a half hour of energetic gardening then you will from a brisk walk.

6. Go swimming at your local club, pool, or YMCA. Annual memberships at your local Y are very inexpensive compared to most fitness clubs. They even have financial aid and scholarships available. Swimming is a great fitness activity for people of all ages. It gets your heart rate up, but puts very low stress on your joints. During a hot summer, it can be a very fun and pleasant activity as well.

7. Take an exercise class. When you turn exercise into a social activity, it becomes a lot more fun and gives you another place to meet new people. You will find classes available for all age groups and skill levels. There are also many different types, such as aerobic dancing, kick boxing, step classes, and aerobic jazz. Another benefit is that when you have to pay for an activity, you are much more likely to use it.

8. Go dancing. A half hour to an hour of dancing can burn more calories than running, and it’s a lot more fun! This is something you can do on a regular basis with your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend, or your friends.

9. Take a bike ride. If you don’t live far from where you work, you might even consider riding your bike to work several times a week. Or riding to the store. Even slow bicycling can burn a lot of calories. Plus, you’ll use muscles that you don’t regularly use in other aerobic activities, such as walking.

10. Challenge yourself to reach different goals. Set fitness or exercise goals for yourself and then strive to meet them. You might set up new goals for yourself every week. Exercise does not have to mean drudgery, or doing the same activity every day until you’re sick of it. Make a list of many different activities that you enjoy, and then pick a different one every day. Find new ways to burn extra calories, such as using the stairs instead of the elevator. Or parking at the far end of the parking lot so you can walk more. Above all, make it fun and you’ll do it regularly!
